SHEQ Advisor

My client is looking for an SHEQ Advisor to assist the Head of Compliance within all of his tasks within construction, retail fit-out, mechanical and electrical and solar projects and contributing to the continual improvement in its SHEQ practice

Must be willing to work around the country and unsociable hours as required.


Some overnight stays will be essential.

Main Responsibilities

  • Maintaining SHEQ related spread sheets, updating records, including SHEQ statistics and information required for the monthly reporting
  • Liaising with contracts/site managers in the creation of SHEQ related documentation both pre-construction, construction and post construction works such as site files, construction phase plans, asbestos reports, risk assessments/method statements, CoSHH assessments, health and safety files and operation and maintenance manuals
  • Assist with maintaining departmental competence and training requirements for SHEQ
  • Assist all employees across the division with SHEQ queries and issues in person, via correspondence and over the phone.
  • Will need to be capable and willing to travel across the UK and Ireland with possible overnight stays to undertake site inspections and tours as required.
  • Develop and deliver SHEQ communications, bulletins, learning alerts and tool box talks etc.
     

Knowledge/experience Required
 

  • Experience in Retail/M&E construction

Qualifications

Essential

  • CSCS Card
  • Asbestos Awareness
  • IOSH Managing Safely / SMSTS or equivalent
  • NEBOSH Construction Certificate or General Certificate

Desirable

  • Member of IOSH Register or equivalent
  • IEMA Management Certificate or equivalent
  • First / Mental Health First Aider
  • Face Fit tester
  • Training delivery related qualifications
